The subject of kriya sharir is the basic subject of Ayurveda in the curriculum of BAMS under Graduation. Kriya Sharir gives knowledge about the different activities of different organs and organs present in the body. Kriya Sharir includes descriptions of action, formation, and distinctions between dosha, dhatu, and malas.
Acharya Charak has said that the doctor who always knows the whole body in all respects also knows completely the science of Ayurveda, which gives happiness in the world.
Kriya Sharir initiates the learning of Ayurveda at the primary level for the students of First BAMS.
Objectives
To explain the basic concept of human physiology in Ayurveda.
To make students well-versed in the basic concepts, knowledge, and applicability of Tridoshas, Sapta Dhatus, and Trimala.
To make students able to develop a scientific approach to meet the challenges of different streams of the current sciences.
Our aim is to highlight the basic knowledge and give a new scientific approach to undergraduate students to develop their skills in Ayurveda and make them competent to apply it in clinical practice and research.
To teach physiology using maximum aids and tools as per NCISM, like group discussions, workshops, field visits, and activities beyond the textbook, thereby making it easy to understand the concept of physiology (KriyaSharir).
Initiate further research in Kriya Sharia by incorporating research projects.
